Cobar Spa, led by entrepreneur Vito Barozzi, is working quickly on the construction of the new wing “Asclepios 3” at the Policlinico in Bari. The pavilion will be ready by the end of the year and will provide 40 beds for intensive and semi-intensive care and 155 beds for ordinary hospitalization, divided into 57 double rooms with a net area of about 19 square meters, 24 single wards (which can be adapted to two bed wards if necessary), 7 rooms for disabled patients and 10 wards for isolated patients with the possibility of accommodating both immunocompromised and infectious patients, accounting for a total of almost 200 beds.
Work is progressing quickly, we expect to deliver Asclepios 3 by 2020 – as stated by Michele Emiliano, president of the Apulia regional administration. Another step forward for the Apulian Policlinico, the de facto reference hub of the whole region. The speed of the progress is important, as well as the safety measures which the works must comply to. The inpatient rooms will be located from the second through the fifth floor. In the pavilion, there will also be outpatient clinics, operating rooms and classrooms for university didactic activities and for resident physicians. The ground floor will house the reception hall, waiting areas and a cafeteria.
The design of the entire pavilion has been carried out following the canons of a model hospital, with particular attention to the aspects of humanization, social interaction, interactivity, appropriateness, reliability and innovation.
