PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS

The “CrossWater” project, created within the Interreg IPA CBC Itlay – Albania – Montenegro 2014/2020 program, sets specific objectives regarding water purification process efficiency, protection of water resources and energy optimization. In order to achieve these goals, the wastewater treatment plants of Monopoli and Sammichele di Bari will be fitted with measuring devices to monitor nitrates, potential REDOX, ammonium, dissolved oxygen, SST e orthophosphates; additionally, electrical panels or similar systems will be set up to monitor the flow of sludge from the purification process. Reducing the volume of dewatered sludge reduces its transport needs to landfills and its environmental impact in terms of CO2 emission.
